The Deputy Managing Director of Operations will oversee the operational activities. This role involves ensuring the efficient, reliable, and safe operation of the plant, while aligning with the strategic objectives of the organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in hydropower operations, strong leadership capabilities, and a commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership:
1) Lead and manage the operations team, including plant operators, engineers, and support staff.
2) Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure optimal plant performance.
3) Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the operations team.
2. Plant Operations:
1) Oversee daily operations to ensure the plant operates at maximum efficiency and reliability.
2) Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
3) Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
3. Resource Management:
1) Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
2) Coordinate with maintenance and procurement to ensure the availability of necessary resources and materials.
3) Optimize the use of technology and tools to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
4. Technical Expertise:
1) Provide technical guidance and support to the operations team on complex issues.
2) Stay updated with the latest advancements in hydropower technology and operational practices.
3) Lead troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis for operational issues.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration:
1) Collaborate with other departments, including maintenance, engineering, and safety, to ensure seamless plant operations.
2) Communicate effectively with senior management, providing regular updates on operational activities and performance.
3) Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and equipment suppliers.
6. Training and Development:
1) Identify training needs and opportunities for the operations team.
2) Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of operations personnel.
3) Mentor and coach team members to support their professional growth and development.

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. 2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management within the hydropower or energy sector. 3. Strong leadership and team management skills. 4. In-depth knowledge of hydropower plant operations and technologies. 5. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. 6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 7.
